Terms of Service

Last updated: August 15, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Qura, the application at usequra.xyz (the "Service"), operated by Qura ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

Qura turns audio recordings and PDF documents into structured notes and flashcards, using speech-to-text transcription, AI-based note structuring, and OCR text extraction. You can upload audio files, upload PDFs, or record live directly in the app.

Accounts

You must sign up to use Qura, either via Google, GitHub, or email/password through our authentication provider. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

Plans and Billing

Qura offers a free plan with a limited number of recordings, and a paid Pro plan with unlimited uploads, billed through our payment processor. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings — you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period, and we don't offer prorated refunds for partial periods.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the audio, documents, and any other content you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading Your Content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display it back to you solely to provide the Service. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and process any content you submit, including recordings of other people, in line with applicable law.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to process content you don't have the right to use.
  • Attempt to bypass plan limits, security controls, or rate limits.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service without our permission.
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to disrupt the Service for other users.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Availability

We aim to keep Qura reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. We're not liable for losses caused by downtime, third-party processing delays, or data loss, beyond what's required by law.

Termination

You can stop using Qura and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though data retention follows our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
