This Privacy Policy explains how Qura ("Qura", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Qura application at usequra.xyz (the "Service").

Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile image via our authentication provider (Google or GitHub sign-in, or email/password). We never see or store your Google or GitHub password.

Content you upload

Audio recordings, PDF documents, and any live recordings you make through the Service are stored so we can generate your notes, summaries, and flashcards. This content is yours — we only process it to provide the Service to you.

Usage data

We collect basic technical data such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, to keep the Service reliable and to fix bugs.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To process your uploads (transcription, text extraction, and AI-generated notes/flashcards) and store the results so you can access them later.
• To enforce plan limits (for example, the number of recordings included on the free plan).
• To send you Service-related communications, such as account or billing notices.
• To improve the reliability and quality of the Service.

We do not use your recordings, documents, or notes to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal data.

Third-Party Processing

To provide transcription, AI note structuring, and OCR text extraction, your content is sent to third-party processing providers solely to generate your notes. These providers act on our behalf under their own data-processing agreements and do not use your content for any purpose beyond fulfilling that request.

Authentication is handled by Clerk. Payment, when you upgrade to a paid plan, is handled by our payment processor — we do not store your card details ourselves.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences like light/dark mode. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Data Retention

We keep your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a recording or note, it is removed from our systems. If you delete your account, we delete your associated content within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain data to comply with the law.

Your Rights

You can access, export, or delete your notes and flashcards at any time from your dashboard. You can request full account deletion by contacting us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
